Operating Inter Pipeline’s facilities in a manner that protects the safety of our employees and contractors is a core value at Inter Pipeline. Our EH&S Policy commits Inter Pipeline to managing all operations in a manner that protects the health and safety of employees, contractors, the public and the environment, while complying with, and where appropriate, exceeding the applicable laws, regulations, industry standards and stakeholder expectations.

Inter Pipeline is continuously improving safety and environmental performance by proactively evaluating its operations to identify hazards, assess priorities, and implement programs and practices to reduce the number and severity of safety and environmental-related incidents towards a goal of zero incidents.

At Inter Pipeline we know that positive safety and environmental performance is essential to the success of our operations. Safety and environmental protection comes first, regardless of the urgency of the job.

2006 Highlights

  • Zero employee lost time accidents for our Canadian operations.
  • NGL extraction business completed its eighth consecutive year with zero employee lost time accidents.
  • Six of Simon Storage’s bulk liquid storage terminals across the UK won medals at the “Gold” level or higher from The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), three received RoSPA’s President’s Award – the highest award possible – in recognition of at least ten consecutive Gold Awards.
  • Simon’s Shannon terminal in Ireland was again recognized by the National Irish Safety Organisation with an Occupational Safety Award.
  • Inter Pipeline’s bulk liquid storage business had no reportable environmental incidents in 2006.

A strong track record of asset integrity and environmental performance is a cornerstone of Inter Pipeline’s success as an operator of world-scale energy infrastructure facilities.
