Maintenance & Reliability Team Leader Cochrane Extraction Plant
Reporting to the Cochrane Plant Manager, the Maintenance & Reliability Team Leader directs the maintenance program and personnel to achieve maximum production, efficiency, reliability and profitability; while maintaining cost control, a safe work force and safe work environment in the Cochrane Plant.
The preferred candidate is a highly skilled individual with leadership capabilities and experience. They are knowledgeable in plant or manufacturing operations and familiar with the maintenance and operation of process technology and large rotating equipment. The candidate is capable of solving complex problems utilizing analytical skills and informed and rational decision making, and has a confident interpersonal style that facilitates clear communication.
Key Activities and Responsibilities:
- Asset Integrity and Equipment Reliability:
- Oversees an effective maintenance control program that incorporates: purchasing and inventory controls, maintenance tracking and reporting, a preventative/predictive maintenance program, and planning to minimize unscheduled down time and lost production.
- Cost Controls:
- Manages plant maintenance costs within approved budget, by tracking, trending and analyzing costs. Review with staff quarterly or as needed.
- Regulatory Compliance & Community Relations:
- Ensures that the plant is maintained in compliance of all regulations and in a manner that reduces the impact on local stakeholders.
- EH&S Performance and Compliance:
- Maintains compliance with all environmental and safety standards, regulations, codes and licenses.
- Personnel Development & Employee Relations:
- Accountable for coaching, and developing plant maintenance coordinators, planners, tradesmen and apprentices including the site-specific training programs, reviewing and evaluating their competency.
Education, Skills and Experience:
- An Engineering degree, or an Engineering Technology Diploma and registration as a certified technologist, or a Journeyman Trade Certificate.
- Superior communications skills and comfort in dealing with people.
- Familiarity with developing and applying analytical frameworks and/or a systems approach to problem solving and performance improvements.
- Adept at using computer software and systems applicable to plant operations and maintenance (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Project, Maximo, Hyperion)
- Progressive management style that informs, engages and motivates employees to think, contribute and improve overall plant performance.
- The following are also desirable attributes:
- Experience with plant or manufacturing operations and maintenance
- Knowledge of gas plant processes, equipment and procedures
- Knowledge of the OH&S, Alberta Environment and ERCB regulations
- Understanding of diverse technical trades.
