Instrument Technician Cochrane
This position, located at our Cochrane Plant, reports directly to the Instrumentation / Electrical Coordinator.
Key Activities and Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all operational activities comply with industry and company measurement standards
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, policies and procedures
- Conduct preventative and regular maintenance and compliance checks on plant equipment
- Maintain current and accurate drawings and as-builts, as well as overhaul manuals for plant equipment
- Responsible for configuring, calibrating and maintaining PLC's, analyzers, transmitters, switches along with other devices and maintaining the plant DCS
- Maintain appropriate records and documents and submit reports as required
- Ensure that all tools and testing equipment are in good operating condition
- Install and calibrate new instrumentation equipment and participate in equipment selection
- May oversee contract labor work and ensure that safe practices and procedures are adhered to
- Subject to call-outs for equipment problems and scheduled overtime to support shutdowns and turnarounds
Education, Skills and Experience:
- Certification as a Journeyman Instrument Mechanic or Technician
- A diploma in Instrumentation Engineering Technology from an accredited program with related plant experience will also be considered
- Related gas plant experience is beneficial
- Experience configuring and maintaining automated systems
- Demonstrated proficiency with instrumentation devices and related equipment
- Computer proficiency and excellent interpersonal, problem solving and economic thinking skills are strong assets for this position
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
- Current H2S Alive, TDG and First Aid certification is also an asset
