Senior Project Manager (Contract)
Calgary
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for providing project management and engineering support for a variety of large scale pipeline and facility projects related to IPF’s Conventional and Oil Sands pipeline systems. This position reports directly to the General Manager, Major Projects and Engineering and is located in the Calgary office (Stock Exchange Tower).
Key Activities and Responsibilities:
- Support the evaluation and development of new business opportunities by providing timely and accurate cost estimates, project schedules and scope details to Business Development.
- Implement new growth related projects and ensure projects are completed safely, with minimal environmental impact, within all rules, regulations and industry best practices, on budget, on time, and are an operational success.
- Provide regular project updates to senior management with respect to key project deliverables.
- Manage projects to IPF’s AFE and internal project management systems.
- Support the ongoing development of IPF’s Engineering and Technical Standards, and other internal systems.
- Stay current with new technology and apply as appropriate to IPF related projects.
- Mentor junior engineers to develop professional and technical skills.
Education, Skills and Experience:
- The successful candidate will be a Professional Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of related experience.
- Demonstrated project management and leadership skills are required.
- Must have a good working knowledge of engineering principles related to the pipeline industry and all applicable rules and regulations.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, hydraulic simulation software and possess strong writing and presentation skills.
- Experience related to business development activities and economic analysis considered an asset.
